Nothing makes me feel more like a girl than a day of shopping with my mom. Since I had an extra week of vacation, she came for a great visit. My favorite day was spent with her and Lani in the Madeline area. Our legs got a great workout – as did my credit card.

I think I can confidently say that French people are best met at the table over food. On Sunday, Madame had a family reunion. Since my mom was in town, we both accepted an invitation – a glimpse of life with a French family.

I’ve always argued quite vehemently that I’m not a girly girl. I don’t wear lots of pink. I’m relatively low maintenance, and I’m not overly feminine. But now that we’re done with class, I’m excited to get to be a girl again.

It’s funny how 10 people from different countries, experiences and ages can come together and be so close. It was pure fate that we all chose to enroll in school at the same time and pure chance that the school put us in the same group.
